12 Simple Carnivore Diet Snacks

The carnivore diet is all about keeping things simple with meat, eggs, and animal-based products, but what about when snack cravings hit?
I’ve found that the longer I’m on the carnivore diet, the less I have cravings or want to snack. But, that doesn’t mean that’s always the case, and so having some easy to grab options has been a real lifesaver.
If you’re wondering what snacks are allowed on a carnivore diet, don’t worry—there are plenty of satisfying options that fit perfectly into this way of eating. Here’s a list of our favorite carnivore diet snacks to keep you full and energized throughout the day.

The Best Carnivore Diet Snacks: Easy, Tasty, and Protein-Packed

01. Beef Jerky
One of the easiest and most portable carnivore snacks is beef jerky. It’s high in protein, convenient, and perfect for on-the-go snacking. Just be sure to choose jerky that’s free from added sugars, preservatives, or plant-based seasonings to keep it carnivore-friendly.
If you’re feeling motivated (and if you’ve been on an animal-based diet for a while, you’ll find you have lots of that!) you can also make your own jerky at home to have full control over the ingredients.
o2. Pork Rinds
Pork rinds are crispy, crunchy, and completely carnivore-approved. They’re made from fried pork skin, making them a great alternative to chips.
Plus, they’re high in fat and protein, which will keep you feeling satisfied. Look for brands that keep it simple with just pork and salt, or make your own at home for a fresh, tasty treat.
3. Hard-Boiled Eggs
Hard-boiled eggs are an excellent and underrated carnivore snack. They’re easy to make in bulk, portable, and packed with protein and healthy fats.
Boil a batch at the beginning of the week and store them in the fridge for a quick snack that’s perfect any time of day. Sprinkle a little salt or enjoy them plain.
4. Bacon

Bacon isn’t just for breakfast—it’s also a great snack on the carnivore diet. I like to cook a batch of bacon ahead of time and store it in the fridge for a quick bite when we’re hungry. I heat it up quickly on a frying pan (I like that texture better than in the microwave, but of course that’s an option too!)
It’s delicious, full of flavor, and satisfies those savory cravings. Be sure to check the label for added sugars or artificial ingredients when buying packaged bacon.
5. Canned Fish (Sardines, Tuna, Salmon)
Canned fish like sardines, tuna, or salmon is a fantastic snack option that’s full of protein and omega-3 fatty acids. It’s also shelf-stable, making it great for when you need something quick and convenient.
Opt for fish canned in water or its own oils for a cleaner option, and keep a few cans on hand for easy snacking.
6. Meat Sticks
Meat sticks, like beef or pork sticks, are another great grab-and-go snack. They’re similar to jerky but usually a bit softer and more convenient to eat quickly.
Look for meat sticks made from 100% beef or pork with minimal additives to ensure they’re carnivore-friendly.
Our absolute favorite meat sticks are the Greenridge Beef Farm Beef Sticks (best deal is at Costco) with the Chomps brand coming in a close second.
7. Pepperoni or Salami Slices
Sliced pepperoni or salami makes for a savory, satisfying snack that fits well into a carnivore diet. These cured meats are high in fat and protein and offer that salty flavor many people love.
Choose varieties with minimal added ingredients, and pair them with cheese if you’re including dairy in your diet for an extra treat.
8. Bone Broth
Though it’s more of a drink than a typical snack, bone broth is a nutrient-dense, warming option that can help stave off hunger between meals.
Packed with collagen, amino acids, and minerals, bone broth is great for gut health and joint support. You can either sip it plain or add some salt and butter for an even richer flavor.
9. Deviled Eggs

If you’re looking to mix up your egg routine, deviled eggs are a more flavorful snack option. Whip up a batch by mixing hard-boiled egg yolks with a butter mayo (I like this recipe from Maria Emmerich), then spoon it back into the egg whites.
They’re easy to make, and you can tweak the seasoning to keep it simple and carnivore-friendly.
10. Cheese
If you tolerate dairy well, cheese can be a great carnivore snack. It’s high in fat and protein, making it a filling option. This is probably my most frequent go-to snack option.
Choose hard cheeses like cheddar, gouda, or parmesan, which are lower in carbs. Cheese sticks, cubes, or slices are convenient ways to enjoy this snack without much prep.
11. Butter

Yep- just plain ‘ol butter. And its DELICIOUS! Choose a grass-fed option, and keep it in the fridge or freezer and cut of a few slices at a time.
Usually when I am hungry for a snack its because I’m not getting enough fat in my diet, so butter is perfect for satisfying that craving.
I like to sprinkle a bit of sea salt on my butter.
12. Scrambled or Fried Eggs
Eggs are one of the most versatile and quick carnivore snacks you can make. When you’re hungry and need something fast, simply scramble or fry up a couple of eggs.
It takes just a few minutes and provides a perfect protein boost between meals!
The carnivore diet doesn’t mean you have to skip snacks entirely! With these easy, protein-packed options, you’ll always have carnivore diet snacks on hand when hunger strikes.
Whether you’re at home or on the go, these carnivore snacks will keep you full and fueled throughout the day.
